UNIQ - Users Network to Improve Quality
“UNIQ” is one of 8 European projects within the Progress programme, with which the EU commission aims to spread tried-and-tested methods for the definition, improvement and measuring of the quality of social services in member countries. In this context it is particularly important to ensure the strengthening of the users themselves: socially disadvantaged people should be integrated in an active and empowering way within the definition and assessment of the quality of the services they require and use.
Nueva Test evaluations are taking place in three countries (Germany, the Czech Republic, Norway). Within this process, people with learning difficulties and disabilities receive training in the basic principles of user-oriented evaluation just as employees of the responsible organisations do.
Representatives from local authorities attend the test evaluations and introduce requirements from their perspective. Together in national quality circles they all discuss how these methods can be implemented in their country. Six countries attend these test evaluations as observers, contributing their own experiences and spreading the basic concept in their region.
This project is funded by the European Commission, Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, as part of the “PROGRESS” programme.
