HEAD-10

South Tyrol Location

South Tyrol’s Nueva evaluators have completed their training with an assessment in summer 2009. The assessment consisted of the presentation of an individually devised question from one of the thematic areas of the Nueva training plan as well as the practical implementation of an assignment from the areas of interview, check, data handling, analysis, interpretation or presentation.
Nueva training was carried out by Lebenshilfe Südtirol. Since Lebenshilfe Südtirol is also itself a provider of residential facilities and a neutral position towards all providers is required, the Nueva operation is run in a separate independent organisation.
Lebenshilfe Südtirol commissioned the Bozener Forschungsinstitut EURAC to survey and analyse the current position of user-oriented quality evaluation models in Europe from an academic viewpoint. Within the context of this work, Nueva was particularly closely examined. Apart from this, concrete starting points for connecting up Nueva with existing systems and models in South Tyrol were found. Completed in January 2009, the publication “Keys to self-determined living” is available on South Tyrol’s quality portal for social welfare.

The training of the South Tyrolean Nueva evaluators is being financed by the European Social Fund.
